Ronnie Greer’s Blues Trio

Written by conall. Posted in Blues'n'Jazz, Music, What's on this Month

Ronnie Greer has been at the centre of the Irish blues scene for over 40 years now. His distinctive guitar playing, melding visceral Chicago blues style licks with be bop jazz inspired lines and chord progressions, has been critically acclaimed as world class. Ronnie has shared the stage with some of the leading figures in the blues genre, including Dr. John, Memphis Slim, Lowell Fulson, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, and Carey Bell, to name but a few. His powerhouse trio on this gig features two of Ireland’s finest and most in demand musicians, John McCullough on Hammond organ and piano, and Peter McKinney on drums. “This is a magnificent band, of world class” Blues in Britain Magazine “Proper Blues from a proper Bluesman” Ralph McLean, BBC Radio Ulster doors 9.30 music 10-12 entry 10euro
