The Honor Heffernan Quartet

Honor Heffernan is an internationally acclaimed jazz/blues singer who has been performing as both a singer and actress for over 30 years. She has released three solo albums- ‘Chasing the Moon’, ‘Fire and Ice’ and ‘The Other Side’ and one duo album entitled “Two heads are better than one” with guitarist Hugh Buckley. On this night she is joined by three of Ireland’s leading musicians Phil Ware on Piano, Damian Evans on Double Bass and Kevin Brady on Drums. A night of music not to be missed!!!! Singer/Actress Honor Heffernan began her career in 1971. Over the years she’s sung pop, folk, rock, blues and jazz, but has concentrated on jazz since the 80s. As an actress she is best known for her roles in Neil Jordan’s ‘Angel’ and the RTE soap opera ‘Fair City’. Her jazz career took off in the early 80s when she began singing regularly in Dublin with the jazz pianist Jim Doherty and collaborated with Noel Kelehan. She has released three solo albums- ‘Chasing the Moon’, ‘Fire and Ice’ and ‘The Other Side’. Her second album ‘Chasing The Moon’ [1991] was recorded with Kelehan and featured Peter Ainscough, Richie Buckley, Mike Nolan and Martin Curry. She became a regular attraction at the annual Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. She worked in Norway with the Knut Mikalsen Trio and the Sandvika Big Band conducted by trombonist/ arranger Rob McConnell. Carvin currently averages around 330 live performances a year. In the Summer of 2018 Carvin Jones completed his first ever American Hard Rock Cafe Tour – performing exclusive dates at Hard Rock Cafes in Boston, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Denver, Seattle, Indianapolis, Tampa, Phoenix, and Anchorage. Carvin is currently in negotiations for many more locations in the USA, Canada, and Europe! 2017/ 2018 continue to be very busy years for Carvin. The Jim Doherty/Nigel Mooney Quartet

Doherty has been leading trios, quartets, small groups & big bands for over 50 years. There is very little in the music scene that Jim has not tackled with his usual flair, attention to detail and humour from writing for stage, radio, TV, Movies, jingles to backing some of the most famous luminaries of the music scene worldwide. His long-term association with the great guitarist, Louis Stewart was severed last year with the untimely death of Louis. With Jim will be his remaining long-term collaborator, Dave Fleming on double bass and on drums, Dominic Mullan and Nigel Mooney joining on guitar.
