Written by conall. Posted in Past 'Events', Music

BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 2 play-listed and BBC Radio 2 Blues Show live session artist Dom Martin (28) is from Belfast. Primarily a solo singer songwriter heavily influenced by the Blues genre, he occasionally joins forces with his two Belfast friends to form The Furious Thirst (Phil Smyth on bass and Matt Hewer on drums). Heavily influenced by Rory Gallagher in particular, Dom and the band punch out an array of Gallagher, Hendrix and a few Dom Martin originals to delight any crowd they play to. Dom has played solo the last few years in the square in Ballyshannon at the International Rory Fest and always draws a huge appreciative crowd. On March 1st and going into Rory’s Birthday on the 2nd at Arthur’s Dublin, when you see him, hear the voice and the intricate guitar work you’ll think Rory is in the room. He may well be looking down in delight as the Celtic Blues tradition is carried on in style. Doors 9.30 Music 10 Entry 10e
