Blues Confidential

Blues Confidential is known for its high energy live performances. The band blazes its own innovative musical path while still remaining true to the blues. Drawing on a vast repertoire its live set combines elements of blues classics from Muddy Waters, Little Walter, BB King, Howlin’ Wolf, John Mayall, and Rory Gallagher with material from modern blues artists such as Gary Clarke Jnr and original compositions by bandleader, guitarist and singer Paulie Martin. Paulie is one of the most exciting young blues guitarists, singers and songwriters to emanate from Ireland since Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore. He has gained the respect of his blues peers as a jaw-dropping guitarist and singer and is bringing the blues to a new and younger audience. He is becoming one of the most sought after session guitar players; he has played with three different bands at the Electric Picnic and regularly features on European tours as a session player with various bands . The band also features the very experienced rhythm section partnership of Steve O’Keeffe (the Pale,) on drums/percussion and Jay Carroll on bass. This partnership has been together for over 15 years and notably have played and recorded with John Isley of Dire Straits. On blues harmonica is John McGuinness, a veteran of the London scene where he played alongside Ritchie “Charlie” McCracken (Taste, Stud) and Paul Atkinson (Bees Make Honey, Juice on the Loose) in Smokin’ Blues and the Buick Hill Band. Blues Confidential played two nights in two venues at the Blackstairs Blues Festival in September 2019. The festival organisers said they were “the highlight of the festival and have already booked the band to play there again in three venues in 2020. Also in 2019 the bands new Album “ Allergic to Work” came out and four videos were published – all of which can be found on the band’s website www.bluesconfidential.com The bands live set is served up with feel, solid playing and injected with a dose of gritty roadhouse rock ‘n’ roll to create the band’s own blues sound . Their live performances have a reputation for being a great night out and just what you need to blow off a little steam at the end of a long week
